About Craig
Let me introduce myself. My name is Craig Branch, I am a native English speaker from Scotland, and have been living in Dortmund, Germany, since 2018. I am CELTA qualified and also have a Master’s Degree in Asian Studies.
I offer individually tailored lessons as well as company and group lessons online and in Dortmund.
I have been a full-time ESL (English as a Second Language) teacher since 2000, when I first decided to move overseas and start a new career.
I lived and taught in Seoul, South Korea for 17 years, mostly teaching at universities during that time. I also taught at companies such as Hyundai, LG, AB INBev, Samsung Group, S-Oil, and many more.
In Germany, I have taught students from numerous lines of work including Human Resources, IT, Media, Logistics, Banking, Education, Entertainment, Security & Technology as well as the Medical profession.
I specialise in teaching both Business and General English, as well as having several years experience of preparing students for TOEFL, IELTS, and The Cambridge Exams.
My goal is to provide an engaging, motivating, and relaxed atmosphere, where the lessons will be 100% focused on you and what you need to improve.
I’ve had the experience of being on both sides of the classroom – as a student and now as an ESL teacher. I can empathise and truly understand the difficulties you may be having with certain parts of the language.
Outside of the classroom, my other passions are reading, music, football (more watching and listening than playing these days), and more recently – podcasting, and making educational videos. I enjoy walking my dog and discovering different parts of the city, as well as meeting friends, and of course, enjoying the excellent local food and beverages.
